You've created a Shootstack account and are now ready to create your first collection. In this article, we'll walk you through the key basic steps to send your photos to your clients.

Create a Collection

Start by creating a collection for your photoshoot. This is where you'll gather all your shoots. Click on the Add collection button and enter the name of your collection and optionally the date.

You can also add tags to your collection to organize all your collections in your own overview. For example, a tag with the type of shoot 'newborn shoot' or 'wedding' and the 'year'.

Then click on Add.

Upload Photos

Once you've created a collection, you can easily upload your photos to your photo sets. Click on Add Photos and drag & drop your photos into the window or select your photos.

Your photos will automatically be uploaded to the default photo set 'All Photos'. You can change the name of this photo set at any time. Additionally, it's also possible to create multiple photo sets.

Organize galleries with photo sets

Within a collection, you can upload your photos into one photo set, but it's also possible to create multiple photo sets. Photo sets are folders that allow you to organize your gallery.

For regular photoshoots, it's often enough to work with one photo set. But if you're a wedding photographer, for example, you can choose to divide your photos into multiple photo sets such as: preparation, first look, ceremony, family portraits, reception, etc. Click here to learn more about how to use photo sets.

Manage photos and setting up your gallery

Once you've uploaded all the photos into your photo set, you can change the order of the photos, move them to another photo set, add new photos, or delete photos.

Then you can upload a cover photo for your collection and start setting up your gallery. Click on the Galleries tab below the cover photo of the collection.

Here you can set up all the settings for this gallery such as access settings, design, downloads, client favorites, and more. Go through all the tabs to customize them. You can do this for every gallery you create.

Note: Make sure to enable the correct photo sets you want to display in the gallery. You can do this under the tab: "photo sets".

It's also possible to create multiple galleries, which can be useful if you want to easily send photos from these collections to a vendor. Click here to learn more about galleries.
