What are galleries and how do they work?

Learn what galleries are and how you can set up a gallery

Last updated on January 17, 2024

In Shootstack you work with collections (main folders), photosets (where you upload your photos), and galleries. The gallery is ultimately what customers will see, where they can view, favorite and download their photos.

Before setting up a gallery, it's important to upload your photos into one (or more) photo sets. Click here to learn more about photosets.

Setting up a gallery

After uploading photos into one or more photo sets, navigate to the Galleries tab. Here, you can adjust all settings, from general settings to the photo sets you want to display, the gallery design, download format, favorites, reviews and access settings.

If you've created multiple photo sets for a client, such as for a wedding with various moments throughout the day, you can enable and rearrange them under the photo-sets tab. You can add more photo sets by clicking on Add.

Create multiple galleries within your collection

If you've created a gallery for your clients but would like to send a separate gallery to a vendor, you can create an extra gallery. You can set up every gallery separately. Click on the photo sets tab at the top and add/delete the photo sets for this gallery. This is what the vendor will see.

It's also possible to create a separate photo set for the vendor. You can do this by clicking on photo sets below the cover photo and then on add photo set. You can upload the photos for this vendor in the photo set. In the gallery setting you can now add this photo set to the vendor's gallery and remove all the other photo sets.

You can customize each gallery created within a collection separately and choose its own cover photo.

Note: Ensure to first add the correct photo set before choosing a cover photo via the design tab. Otherwise, the correct photos won't be visible.
