The resolution at which you upload your photos in Shootstack is entirely up to you as the photographer. If you're unsure about what's best, we're here to guide you. However, please note that this advice is commonly used but not mandatory.

To allow your clients the option to print photos for photobooks or prints, we advise to upload your photos in high resolution. Export your photos from Lightroom or Photoshop with the following settings:

Image format: JPEG
Color space: sRGB
Quality: 100
Resolution: 300 pixels per inch

You generally don't need to adjust the image size. Most cameras have dimensions around 4000x6000.If you have a camera that produces extremely large photos, this may consume a lot of storage space. In that case, you can adjust the image size accordingly.

Choose, for example, a long edge of 6000 pixels. This will slightly reduce the file size of your photo while still being large enough for printing.

Ensure that the aspect ratio on your camera is set to 3:2 for the correct photo ratio.

In Shootstack, you only need to upload one size of the photo. You can adjust the download settings for your client in original resolution and / or web size. Make sure to upload the photos in high resolution so when clients download the original resolution they get the high res photos.

When clients download photos in web size, they are automatically resized and scaled to 2048 pixels. These photos are suitable for use on social media. You don't have to upload an extra photo size for this, we do this automatically for your client. Learn more about download settings here.
