Why is the upload of my photos so slow?

Solutions for slow photo uploads

Last updated on January 17, 2024

If your photo uploads are progressing very slowly, it's often due to the speed of your internet provider. You can perform a speed test via: https://www.speedtest.net/

For photo uploads, we recommend a minimum upload speed of 10 Mbps (10000 kbps). If you're experiencing significantly lower upload speeds to our server compared to your speed test results, you can try the following standard options:

  • Clear browser cache: Clearing your browser's cache can help speed things up again. We recommend using Google Chrome.

  • Refresh your browser: On Mac, use: cmd + shift + R, and on Windows, use: ctrl + F5.

  • Update your browser: Your browser needs regular updates, ensure it's up to date, and restart your computer after the update.

  • Restart your internet router.

Check your file sizes

Extremely large photos can impact upload speed. If your photos are very large, consider resizing them slightly without losing quality. Doing so will significantly improve your upload experience and save space!
