Many photographers will know Marit for her stunning photos and educational platform for photographers. Her photography journey began about 15 years ago. When Marit first got her hands on a camera at age 16, she never let go! “Back then, I mostly photographed horses, couples, and nature,” Marit says. But now, she is mainly known for her branding shoots, photographs many couples, and runs her online educational platform.
Embracing change
Despite Marit having photographed for so long, she is always evolving. She says, “After photographing for so long, you want to try something new, so I’m slowly shifting my style towards a more cinematic approach. It’s a fun and educational process!”
Marit primarily photographs female entrepreneurs and couples. “Female entrepreneurs are a delightful target group to work with because I can relate to them well, and women are simply amazing to photograph,” she says.
Couples are a different story for her. What she loves most about photographing them is telling their stories. She also has a strong preference for photographing people who secretly dislike being photographed.
Sharing knowledge
Marit’s journey as a photographer also led her to another passion: teaching others. She combined her love for photography, writing, and web design by launching her blog, where she shared photography tips and tutorials about editing with Photoshop and Lightroom. Her blog quickly gained a loyal following, attracting hundreds of readers and generating lots of new photoshoot requests. This success led to even bigger opportunities, including the release of her own book, writing for major photography platforms, and collaborating with multiple companies.
For Marit, however, one of the most fulfilling aspects of her work is helping hobby photographers take their passion to the next level. Whether through her blog, tutorials, or personal mentorship, she loves guiding others to grow and achieve more with their photography.
Looking ahead
For Marit, photography is just one piece of the puzzle. Her passion for entrepreneurship, her love for discovering beauty in the world, and her drive to collect new adventures are what keep her inspired. She’s always searching for the next creative challenge and looks forward to continuing her journey of growth, learning, and helping others along the way.
